Ride to Gulf Of Khambhat

I was very much in need of a ride so was my beast. I was not happy as one of my planned rides had cancelled . I Checked the map to search for a place that I could go and which could quench my need to ride. After sudden thinking I just decided to visit Khambhat which is known as ancient port city, firstly it was some 90 kms from my place and secondly I thought I would find some beach or something so will click some good photographs.
Started off after noon with my younger brother as he too wanted to taste what it felt like being on the pillion seat of my 220 for more than 30 minutes :p. the route I was taking was Ahmedabad-Kheda-Tarapur-Khambhat. As it was the next day of kite flying festival so here in Gujarat everyone was busy on their terraces and I was not expecting much traffic on the NH8 as well. I crossed kheda in some 45 minutes, and the road was in good condition. Next stop was Tarapur , this was a state highway, not as good as the NH8 but okay okay , passing through villages and all finally reached the entrance gate of Khambhat village. En route I found many coastal trees which was giving me a feeling of what I had been expecting. Stopped before entering the town to check where could I go and find a good place, manoeuvring through the streets of khambhat I reached a old fort kind of wall beyond which I expected sea but in vain. Checking the map again I found a place some 10 kms where there were possibilities of finding what I wanted
There was a old known temple there and at some distance beyond I could see the creek which I thought would be sea. Drove close to get some photos and started my return journey after a halt of few minutes. On my return I knew it was going to be dark and I did not want to drive on that old narrow road so changed my route and took the Nadiad-Kheda-Ahmedabad route although bit long but on the map I could see wide roads, and yes they were good. By the time I reached Nadiad it was already dark. Stopped to have snacks at a roadside restaurant and continued my return journey. Reached home safe and sound by some 8 and was happy for some good shots and the lovely ride.
